| | Australian Open is finally over and Rafael Nadal has been crowned a champion. As much as I wanted to see Federer win this year's Championship, you simply can't take away this feat from Rafa. To quote a friend of mine, also known as Shooter--- "That's just tooooooo good!"
Back to reality now...
In Dallas, TX this week to try and defend my title from last year. My first round match is tonight vs. Alex Kuznetsov and if interested, you can check it out at www.frontrowtennis.com
Also, few people have asked me why my ranking actually dropped, even though I had a good result at the Australian Open. With the new ranking system in place, I would have to write an essay trying to explain the whole mess. In simplest terms, points from last years tournaments (Australian Open and Dallas Challenger win) dropped off at the same time. In some ways its good because I don't have to defend them anymore; in other ways its bad because it has already hurt my ranking. Nonetheless, there is plenty of tennis to be played this year and plenty of points to be collected.
Last, but not least... Check out Jon Wertheim's latest column on SI.com. I am not the one to brag about this, but its a pretty cool write up.
Greetings from Dallas,
